This young man came to see us because his upper front teeth kept drifting out and a large space was developing. On examination we found out that he had severe gum disease and bone loss around the front teeth, causing this unsightly movement. After stabilizing the gum condition, one infected tooth was removed, and a bridge was placed. The bridge improved appearance, function, and speech. This patient has been effectively using this bridge for the past four years. Bridges can be used in certain situations to replace missing teeth, where implants are not indicted.
